Inmarsat Jet ConneX
For the first time, global, reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi is available to business aviation users from a single operator.

Jet ConneX delivers an in-the-air broadband experience comparable to on-the-ground connections, to provide seamless in-flight connectivity for every passenger.

The high-speed aviation revolution
In a data-driven world, staying connected is a necessity, whenever and wherever you fly.

Jet ConneX delivers broadband that allows passengers to join a video conference while flying over the Atlantic, catch the latest market reports en route to the next business meeting, download tomorrow’s presentation from the company server – or just kick back and stream the game or TV show live.

Inmarsat’s suite of advanced connectivity services make today’s connected business aircraft a more productive and efficient way to fly.

The fastest broadband in the sky for business aviation
Jet ConneX offers passengers the highest speed and most extensive coverage of flight routes available to the market. It’s the first worldwide Ka-band network available to business aviation from a single operator. The Jet ConneX service delivers a reliable, uninterrupted, high quality Wi-Fi experience wherever you fly. It provides data speeds capable of supporting video-streaming, Voice over IP (VoIP), live TV, file transfer and VPN. Just about everything that makes business fast moving down here, moves just as fast at 35,000ft with Jet ConneX.

Bandwidth Guidelines
Application Bandwidth Range Examples
Voice over IP (VoIP) 28 to 64Kbps / 0.028 to 0.064Mbps
Internet / Email 256 to 400Kbps / 0.256 to 0.4Mbps
PED Video conferencing 300 to 700Kbps / 0.3 to 0.7Mbps
Standard Definition Video / YouTube streaming 500 to 2000Kbps / 0.5 to 2Mbps
High Definition Video streaming 3000 to 6000Kbps / 3 to 6Mbps
Bandwidth consumption varies according to the specific application being used and all apps do not perform the same. Streaming video apps are especially unique in their bandwidth usage. These values are indicative guidelines only, please consult your service provider for specific details.

Global Xpress: high capacity, worldwide coverage
Jet ConneX operates over Global Xpress, the first worldwide Ka-band network from a single operator. Each of the network’s current fifth generation satellites operate 89 highly efficient Ka-band spot beams. A foundation layer of global coverage is capable of providing up to 50Mbps to fuselage mounted, and 33Mbps to tail mounted, antennas. Capacity can be supplemented by each satellite’s unique steerable beams, which direct additional capacity three times as powerful as the spot beams to busy airspace during high traffic periods.

A fifth Global Xpress satellite, GX5, launched in November 2019 to meet growing demand for aviation Wi-Fi across Europe and the Middle East. A further seven powerful GX payloads will be added to the fleet in the next four years.

Jet ConneX is the only business aviation solution to offer a Committed Information Rate (CIR) – the CIR is the guaranteed minimum data rate that operators will experience. And as data requirements rise, upgradeable bandwidth, at a low cost per Mb, gives you the flexibility to adapt to changing needs and maximise the return on your investment.

Broadband you can rely on, now and in the future
The Global Xpress network is supported by a fully redundant ground infrastructure, providing network availability of at least 95%. Each satellite has two ground stations to guarantee reliable communication to the satellites. Operational control is maintained with redundant Satellite Control and Network Operations Centres, owned and operated exclusively by Inmarsat.

State of the art JetWave terminals
The lightweight JetWave MCS 8X00 system is offered exclusively from Honeywell. The system consists of four major components:

Antenna controller to accurately point the antenna to the satellite
RF unit to blast the data through space
Modem to process the incoming and outgoing data
Either a fuselage or tail mounted antenna to direct the data to and from the satellite
